My parents did manual labor. My father worked in the Forest office, and made less than $2.00 a day, and we struggled.
As time went on, my father contracted Tuberculosis and passed away when I was 3 years old. My mother was dumbfounded by my father’s death and became so weak day by day. To survive, my mother became a beggar, and went door to door begging for over a year, carrying me over her shoulder. The situation was getting worse, and we didn’t have enough to eat. One morning, my mother told her mother to watch me, for her to go to the market to get something.
My grandmother looked everywhere for my mother, but to no avail. One day, the warden of the children center visited my village, and met my grandmother. She shared my story with the warden, and he was moved with compassion and brought me to the children center and been living in a hope house since then. I am a second-grade student and want to continue my education. I help with minor work in the garden at the children’s center. The children’s center supports me with education, food, and clothing. I am thankful to the children’s center and Hope for Life Ministries for their love and support.
